Reflection Report As Participant 07 - CCS Research Forum 2023
Event Title: “CCS Research Forum 2023”
I.
Details of the event/activity
CCS Research Forum 2023 with the theme "Frontiers of Knowledge: Unveiling Tomorrow’s Insights” was held at Gordon College, PE Room on December 5-7, 2023, and was led by the Research Coordinator, CCS Ma’am Denise Lou B. Punzalan. We also participated in their Research Presentation as a delegate.
II.
Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
In the CCS Research Forum, the 3rd Year IT, CS, and EMC students presented their Research Projects as Junior. Each course had a specific date for presenting their Research Projects. Since we are in BSCS, we attended on the day designated for CS as delegate participants.
III.
Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a
practical level. (Practical application of learnings)
As a CS student, these research presentations can
be helpful for us, especially since we have Thesis Writing I as a subject this
semester. We can gather various ideas from the Junior CS participants in this
event.
I remember last year, we were in that same position, and now we're in our 4th year as SENIORS. This was one of the factors that helped us reach this point. It prepared us for our transition to 4th year, and I hope the same for the Junior participants.
IV.
Positive feedback (on the event organization)
I appreciate the separation of dates for each course because it allows us to see the specific concepts or fields relevant to us. For example, in our course as CS, we need to build a system with CS concepts and not just a system similar to those in other courses
V.
Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities
I hope this kind of event won't be discontinued each school year because it is one of the things that can help Junior students gain valuable ideas and background as they transition to their Senior year.
