Event Title: “Virtual Horizons: Navigating the Future of IT Industry with Server Virtualization”

 

I. Details of the event/activity

                “Virtual Horizons: Navigating the Future of IT Industry with Server Virtualization” this took place on December 7, 2023, and was conducted online via Google Meet and our event head for this was Eryl Jay A. Cordero. Our resource speaker for this was Mr. Wynner Agabayani, a Network Engineer.


II. Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

            Our speaker explained the essential things that attendees need to know about Server Virtualization or the server itself. The speaker also mentioned what's inside a server and how it works, as well as its purpose. Our speaker clarified and demonstrated what a server can do for us.

            In my understanding, a server is a computer or system that manages and shares resources, providing services to other devices in a network.


III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level. (Practical application of learnings)

In this webinar, all of us gained an understanding and clarity on what a server is and how it works. As graduating students about to enter the future of the IT industry, we can utilize this knowledge to apply and deepen our understanding when it comes to servers. My real-life example here is that our teacher serves as our 'server' as students because they provide knowledge and resources that we can use and will be helpful to us in real life.


IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

                Our resource speaker explained things clearly and thoroughly, and I feel that the attendees in our organized webinar are satisfied.


V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities

                In the future, when we have the opportunity to conduct a similar topic, we will strive to have more students attend because it is important for students like us to learn about it.

Details of the event/activity                 CCS Research Forum 2023 with the theme "Frontiers of Knowledge: Unveiling Tomorrow’s Insights” was held at Gordon College, PE Room on December 5-7, 2023, and was led by the Research Coordinator, CCS Ma’am Denise Lou B.
