Event Title: “Introduction to Microsoft Office”

 

I. Details of the event/activity

            “Introduction to Microsoft Office” the event took place on December 18, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Barangay New Banicain, Covered Court, Olongapo City. The emcees for the event were Johniel Zar Mendoza and myself, Steven D. Singh. Our resource speaker for the event was Ma'am Baby Lea C. Divino, LPT, MAT.


II. Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

                Here, they will learn the basic overview of Microsoft Office, its purposes, and how it can be utilized. For instance, in Microsoft Word, they can use it for creating assignments, research papers, and various other documents.

In using PowerPoint or PPT, our resource speaker shared how to create a well-structured and standard presentation for their future presentations. This includes the proper placement of animations and transitions to enhance the visual appeal of their slides.

In Excel, Ma'am Divino demonstrated the basic usage of the Microsoft Excel. She provided examples, particularly focusing on how teachers can use Excel, as it is commonly employed for grading students. She showed how to compute student grades and explained basic operation syntax in Excel.


III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level. (Practical application of learnings)

                Throughout the event, we will learn the basic and proper usage of the three Microsoft Office applications. This knowledge is applicable not only in school but also in various aspects of our lives, such as work and other activities. The Senior High School attendees can also apply this knowledge to their research and create well-structured presentations.


IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

                All the attendees and members of the barangay collaborated with us to conduct this seminar for them. We were able to finish it successfully because of their collective assistance.

 

V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities

                It would be even better if there are more attendees because this is something they need to learn—the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Details of the event/activity                 CCS Research Forum 2023 with the theme "Frontiers of Knowledge: Unveiling Tomorrow’s Insights” was held at Gordon College, PE Room on December 5-7, 2023, and was led by the Research Coordinator, CCS Ma’am Denise Lou B.
