I.             Details of the event/activity

            Transforming from College to Career: Soft Skills for Success is the title of the webinar I attended, and it’s from OSWS Gordon College. The resource speaker here is Mr. Brian Carlo Hipolito, he is a Senior HR Officer (Human Resource Department) from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Beijing, China. It was held on May 31, 2024 at 9:00 AM in a zoom meeting and facebook live and this is an almost 1 hour and 30 minutes webinar.

 

II.            Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

Reflecting on the "Transforming from College to Career: Soft Skills for Success" course, I gained valuable skills in business communication and resume building. The business communication tips enhanced my ability to convey ideas clearly and professionally, tailoring my style to different audiences. Comprehensive guidance on resume do's and don'ts helped me avoid common pitfalls and present my qualifications confidently. Emphasizing the 3 C's of a powerful resume (clear, consistent, concise) taught me to create a professional and impactful resume, ensuring a strong impression on recruiters.

 

III.           Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level. (Practical application of learnings)

                This webinar has equipped me with essential soft skills for my career transition. The practical advice on business communication and resume building has not only boosted my confidence but also prepared me to present myself effectively in the job market. These learnings will undoubtedly play a crucial role in my professional success.

            The "Transforming from College to Career: Soft Skills for Success" course was outstanding, thanks to the excellent organization by OSWS and the insightful guidance from Mr. Brian Carlo Hipolito. The webinar content was well-structured and highly relevant, and Mr. Hipolito's expertise and engaging teaching style made the learning experience both enjoyable and valuable.

 

V.           Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities

                For future webinars, consider including real-life case studies and success stories to illustrate key concepts. Incorporating interactive polls and quizzes can engage participants more actively. Providing opportunities for networking with fellow attendees and industry professionals could further enrich the experience.
